Russia Weather
Most of Russia has a continental climate, and many areas are very distant from the sea. Hot Summers, very cold Winters, and only a brief transition between the two in Spring and Autumn, are typical. The exceptions to this general rule are the extreme North, near the Arctic Ocean coast, where there are large tundra regions, and the Black Sea coast in the vicinity of Sochi which is considered to have a subtropical climate.
